Porsche are known to have been testing a new model over the past six months, and this could indeed be it. What you’re looking at here may just be the next Cayman GT4.
Based on the new 718 series, this particular model spotted benefits from a unique set of rims adoring each corner along with red brake callipers hiding behind. Other noticeable enhancements include a restyled rear diffuser and a rear wing firmly bolted to the rear deck lid complete the package.
These attachments are not found on the current 718 Cayman lineup.
While it may look like Porsche’s latest version of the new Cayman GT4, there is also a slight possibility its owner has just fitted GT4 inspired parts to their 718.
However, seeing as in the picture the model is surrounded by other Porsche’s including a Cayenne and Panamera, were inclined to believe this is the real deal and someone just forgot to apply the camo.
What drives the new 718 Cayman GT4?
With Porsche ushering in a new naming system for both the Cayman and Boxster models, a new engine was also bolted into place. Now using a turbocharged flat-four motor instead of a flat six, will the GT4 follow suit?
Apparently not. Reports emerged last year that the new 718 Cayman GT4 will utilise the same 4.0-litre flat-six motor found in the current 911 GT3 although slightly detuned and mated to an all mighty manual gearbox.
