Toyota Yaris sedan and hatchback models are not just popular in the GCC, they are popular around the world. With Toyota recently joining the World Rally Championship, they’ve partnered with Gazoo racing to create a one-of-a-kind Yaris to built in limited numbers.
Powered by a supercharged 1.8-litre four cylinder engine, 210 horsepower is channelled to the front wheels and is exclusively mated to a six-speed manual gearbox. This certainly is not your everyday Yaris.
While there are subtle hints of the Yaris inside, Toyota has replaced the front seats with sporty bucket ones wrapped in Alcantara, and have also fitted a multi function steering wheel with a red 12 O’clock stripe, touch screen multimedia system, digital climate control and keyless start button.
Beneath the skin, Toyota has stiffened the chassis, added shorter springs for the suspension and a Torsen limited slip differential in order for the hot hatch to deal with the additional power.
400 units of the Toyota Yaris GRMN are destined for Europe and the UK as of writing. Over 100 of those are going to the UK, and it’s unknown if the hot hatch will be sold outside the EU.
Production for the Toyota Yaris hot hatch is scheduled to start later this year, and by chance, you want to get your hands on one, you can import an example to the UAE.
