With the current surge of crossovers flooding the market worldwide, the station wagon is slowly being phased out but that won’t stop one Japanese manufacturer from launching one. Designed and built in Europe for Europe, this is the Toyota Corolla Touring Sports.
But just before it’s first live appearance in Paris, Toyota has revealed the first images and details of the Corolla variant which is more or less a longer version of the Corolla hatchback shown off earlier this year in Geneva.
Riding on a 2,700 mm long wheelbase, the Toyota Corolla Touring Sports offers increased versatility and interior space.
Thanks to its increased length, Toyota claims the Touring Sports offers “best-in-class rear seat passenger legroom” and 598 litres of cargo space.
As for engine options, there are three available; a petrol powered 1.2-litre turbo with 116 horsepower. The other two are hybrid powertrains with either a 1.8-litre unit good for 122 hp or a 2.0-litre with 180 hp.
Inside, the model can be had with a wide range of features including a premium heads-up display, JBL sound system, wireless mobile phone charging and the list goes on.
The Touring Sports wagon will additionally offer four bespoke two-tone finishes, black roof and pillars, multilink rear suspension and adaptive variable setup.
The Toyota Corolla Touring sports will be available across Europe, GCC availability is unknown. But if the latest Corolla wagon is the car for you, you could always import one into the UAE.
As previously mentioned, the Touring Sports will be on show for the first time at next months Paris Motor Show.
