Not too long ago, leaked images of the 2018 Prado surfaced online. Toyota did not confirm or deny that what was portrayed would be the end result. However, with them confirming the model recently, the images were bang on.
Not strafing to far away from current models, 2018 Prado four wheelers benefit from a new bonnet, fenders, headlights, front bumper, rims, taillights and front grille.
While they may seem to add a touch of style to the model, they serve a useful purpose. For example, tweaks made to the front end improve cooling.
Inside, the cabin gets a fresh dashboard cluster and centre console highlighted by an 8-inch infotainment system that sits lower. New trims and control surfaces are available.
2018 Prado Power
European versions are available in three flavours; a petrol powered four-cylinder 2.7-litre rated at 161 horsepower mated to a five-speed manual gearbox, another petrol engine with 4-litre displacement and 249 horses mated to a six-speed auto.
The final engine is a diesel-powered turbocharged four pot with 177 hp and can be had with a manual or automatic gearbox.
GCC engines have yet to be confirmed. However, seeing as the two petrol motors are identical to what powers 2017 model’s, these should be available across the region.
2018 Prado SUV’s will once again be available in three and five door configurations with five and seven seats. Customers can choose between ten exterior colours and three interior colours.
Toyota did leave one crucial detail out; when the model will launch? And how much will it cost?
Stay tuned.
