What’s Audi doing on a Chinese cars list? Well, Audi made headlines in November 2024 when it revealed a new brand in partnership with Chinese giant SAIC. The new brand was named ‘AUDI,’ with the capitalized letters separating it from the original Audi. The new brand is expected to launch three new cars in the near future with the first one expected mid-2025.
The AUDI E Concept was also revealed in November 2024 as a preview of what’s to come from the new brand. The E Concept is a stylish station wagon, with intricate detailing and impressive design elements. It does away with the four-rings logo, replacing it with ‘AUDI’ lettering instead. The 764hp dual-motor electric powertrain offers impressive performance.
The AUDI brand and its cars are most likely to remain exclusive to the Chinese domestic market. However, the platform on which it is based might result in technology transfers to Audi’s other upcoming EVs from the e-Tron sub-brand.

3. Zeekr 007 Touring

4. BYD Electric Sports Car

Unveiled in April 2024 as the Fang Cheng Bao Super 9 Concept, test models of the sports car have been spotted wrapped in BYD’s signature Blue camouflage. 5. Firefly EV
Well-known Chinese EV manufacturer Nio recently launched a new sub-brand named Firefly, primarily targeted at the European market. Firefly will produce small, affordable, and feature-packed electric vehicles. The brand also revealed images of the first electric car from the brand, and it’s simply named Firefly EV.
The Firefly EV is a five-door hatchback and will compete with the likes of the Mini Cooper EV, Fiat 500e, Peugeot e-208, and BYD Dolphin. The Firefly EV targets urban commuters with its compact design and efficient performance. Affordable yet stylish, it’s an ideal choice for city dwellers. 7. Avatr 06
The Avatr 06 is a mid-size electric sedan that was first showcased in December 2024. It features an LFP battery from CATL and electric motors from Huawei.

8. MG’s ‘Solid-State’ EV
No, ‘Sold-State’ isn’t the name of MG’s upcoming EV. It is an electric car that’s yet to be named, however, it derived the solid-state nickname courtesy of the advanced battery pack under the floorboard. Solid-state battery technology has been in the news for a while now, as it is considered the next big thing in the EV world.
Due to the fact that the electrolyte in the battery is a solid instead of a liquid or semi-liquid, SSBs are compact and light while still being able to retain more charge, therefore resulting in increased range. 9. MG P9/Maxus Interstellar X
In December 2024, the Maxus Interstellar X pickup truck was launched in the Chinese market. It is a rugged yet futuristic pickup truck from Maxus, a subsidiary of Chinese auto giant SAIC. MG Motor is also a subsidiary of SAIC, and more recently, spy pictures of MG’s version of the pickup truck surfaced — renamed MG P9.
