Jeep enthusiasts got a glimpse into the brand’s exciting future during Stellantis’s 2024 Investor Day on June 13th. While specific details about launch dates were not revealed, Jeep CEO Antonio Filosa did announce a strategic roadmap packed with new SUVs that prioritise electrification and continued off-road prowess.
Three New Jeep SUVs
Although specifics remain under wraps, Jeep hinted at several new additions to its already impressive SUV portfolio. The Renegade and the Compass nameplates will be carried forward at least until 2027.
Both SUVs were expected to be discontinued by the American SUV maker. However, the recent roadmap from the brand revealed that these SUVs will be carried forward. Following the current trend, the Renegade and the Compass could be launched with an all-electric powertrain.
Apart from these two SUVs, Jeep will be also introducing an all-new D-segment SUV that will be placed underneath the Grand Cherokee and alongside the recently launched Wagoneer S Electric and the soon-to-be-launched Recon.
Facelifted SUVs
Jeep plans to create a strong SUV line-up by 2027 by giving a mid-cycle refresh or a facelift to the remaining SUVs in its portfolio. This includes:
- Jeep Wrangler
- Jeep Gladiator
- Jeep Grand Cherokee
- Jeep Wagoneer
- Jeep Grand Wagoneer
Electrification Future
The emphasis on electrification aligns with Stellantis’s broader “Dare Forward 2030” plan that positions the automotive giant as a leader in the electric vehicle (EV) revolution.
Jeep’s new lineup will reportedly feature a healthy mix of plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEVs) and battery electric vehicles (BEVs), catering to the growing demand for sustainable transportation solutions without sacrificing Jeep’s legendary off-road capability.
Market Share
Jeep is setting ambitious targets to become the undisputed king of SUVs, especially in the US. The brand aims to nearly double its market share, reaching a staggering 85% from its current 45%.
This surge in popularity is expected to translate into a global sales increase from one million to 1.5 million units annually. Additionally, Jeep plans to expand its US manufacturing from 760,000 models to well over a million annually.
