That’s right, once again Telsa wants to expand into another market to unleash their all electric fury. The American company now has its sights firmly on the Pickup segment.
We can expect the underpinnings of the all-electric truck to be similar to the current Tesla Model X and similar batteries hooked up to the drive train. Drive is supposed to be permanent four-wheel drive. With the setup, you can expect a 0-100 km/h time of six seconds in standard trim, and it’s inevitable that the American made vehicle will come fitted with ludicrous mode to bolt post any rival.
Rivals once the truck hits would include the upcoming Mercedes-Benz pick up which was recently caught testing in Europe, Tesla could go as far and try to topple the Big American Three; Dodge Ram, Chevrolet Silverado and Ford F150 with the latter being America’s best-selling pickup since 1981!
This is the first of many upcoming all-electric vehicles Telsa apparently have in the pipeline this includes a larger SUV, buses and even trucks. And of course, all of their latest creations will feature autonomous driving, which the company are continually improving with current generation models.
Telsa has only confirmed that the company will go ahead with the pickup idea, no release date or estimated price was revealed. We can expect it to roll out sometime in the next five years; the company are even looking into solar charging technology.
