Volvo cars have evolved over the years. From what are commonly referred to as bricks on wheels, Volvo has escalated their styling ques with the elegant S90 saloon and V90/V90 Cross Country estate models.
Set to arrive in Q3 2020, the S90 and V90 have several refinements including new fog lights, a new lower front bumper and a new spoiler design.
As for the interior, the sophisticated saloon and wagon get a brand new, state-of-the-art Bowers and Wilkins sound system.
To enhance the quality, the system comes with an upgraded amplifier, automatic vehicle noise cancellation and a new setting that mimics the sound of a Jazz club.
Another new features inside is the Advanced Air Cleaner with a PM 2.5 particle sensor. First developed for the Chinese market, it allows drivers to monitor the quality of the air inside the cabin via the centre screen.
The system can be used to clear any unwanted or irritating particles, including sand and dust, within a few minutes.
Both the audio and advanced air cleaner are available on all 60 and 90 Volvo cars based on the Scalable Product Architecture.
All models in the 90 and 60 Range now also come with double USB-C charging points in the rear which replace the 12-volt outlets.
Wireless phone chargers previously introduced on the small XC40 SUV, is now available on most variants in the 60 and 90 series.
As for the interior materials, a leather-free interior option for top-trim levels. Exclusive tailored wool-blend seats found in the XC90 are now available in the 90 and 60 models.
Elsewhere in the model range, Volvo Cars are rapidly expanded the number of its 48-volt mild-hybrid powertrain options. These engine options will be available on every single Volvo model from Q4 2020.
Volvo’s mild-hybrid system offers drivers up to 15 per cent fuel savings and emission reductions in real-world driving. The brake-by-new wire system interacts with the energy recovery system and reduces fuel consumption and emissions by recovering kinetic energy under braking.
Together with the Recharge car line fo plug-in hybrids and fully electric cars, this means there is now an electrified Volvo model for everyone.
