It hasn’t been long since Range Rover announced a new model to launch in the coming months. Velar is its name and even before its showroom debut, a Velar SVR model has been spotted gobbling up the Nurburgring.
Covered from head to toe in black and white camouflage, it may be hard to tell that this is a Velar SVR. However, upon further inspection, you’ll notice the larger air intakes with a newly designed front bumper.
That’s all we could spot, however, as this could indeed be a Velar SVR you can expect four tailpipes sticking out of the rear end and a high-performance brake system to slow the beast down.
Spy photographers couldn’t get close enough to snap up some shots of the Velar SVR’s interior. We’d expect to see a sporty package similar to other SVR models including bucket seats, sports steering wheel, carbon fibre trim and plenty of weight saving materials.
Powering all four wheels is expected to be a similar motor dropped in the Jaguar F-Pace SVR. Rated at 567 horsepower and 700 Nm or torque from its V8 5-litre engine, it serves as an ideal rival to the Porsche Macan Turbo and other “entry-level” luxury SUV’s.
Range Rover hasn’t exactly confirmed when we’ll see the Velar SVR, but you can expect it either next year or in 2019.
Standard Velar models are still a few months away from the showroom too. Until then. we’ve got new Range Rover and used Range Rover for sale in Dubai, Sharjah, Abu Dhabi and Ajman.
