Missed out on the 911 R? Porsche have just revealed a model that may potentially fill that void. Reviving the 911 Carrera T nameplate, this is just one of many enthusiasts-orientated Porsche has promised us.
Following in the footsteps of the R, a manual transmission is standard instead of an automatic gearbox. Mated to a twin-turbo flat six cylinder, owners have 370 horsepower to control along with 460 Nm of torque.
Stick-shift models launch to 100 km/h in an impressive 4.3 seconds before hitting a top speed of 293 km/h.
While we have our hearts set on a manual box, Porsche has confirmed customers can swap it out for a PDK transmission. Select this and the 911 Carrera T launches to 100 in four seconds flat but maxes at slightly lower top speed; 290 km/h.
Other features include optional rear-wheel steering, mechanical rear differential lock and PASM Sport Suspension.
How to spot a 911 Carrera T?
Adoring the rear end underneath large Porsche lettering is a distinctive 911 Carrera T badge, but that’s not all. Exclusive decals adorn each corner while inside, custom seat trimmings are on offer and you’ll notice the traditional door handles have been removed in favour for lighter straps instead.
Porsche has also stripped out some of the sound insulation to lighten the load to 1,425 kilos.
Those interested in the 2018 911 Carrera T can pre-order in the US with prices starting at $102,100 or AED 375,013. And if you need help shipping it over, we’ve got a handy guide to get your new car to the UAE.
