History
The Porsche Carrera GT’s origins lie in Porsche’s motorsport ambitions, specifically a planned return to Le Mans with a V10 engine initially developed for a Formula 1 project. When Porsche shifted focus away from racing, the V10 engine found new life in a road car project, leading to the creation of the Carrera GT.
The concept debuted at the 2000 Paris Motor Show, featuring a carbon fibre chassis and advanced aerodynamics, receiving overwhelming praise. Encouraged by this response, Porsche developed the production version, which launched in 2003 with a 5.7-liter V10 engine.
