Porsche has shocked fans around the world and pretty much everyone else on the planet by revealing the new Porsche 935 Clubsport at the Rennsport Reunion in California.
Paying homage to the iconic 953/75 race car which was also known as Moby Dick due to its long curvy bodywork. The latest iteration of the 935 is constructed from carbon-fibre reinforced polymer which keeps the overall weight down at 1,380 kg.
Built on the current 911 GT RS, the Porsche 935 draws power for a twin-turbo 3.8-litre flat-six petrol engine rated at 690 horsepower. Connected to a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission which sends power to the rear axle.
The transmission is fitted with rigid mounts and a limited-slip differential designed for racing.
With a new extended body firmly attached, the Porsche 935 measures in at 4,865 mm long, 2,034 mm wide and 1,359 mm tall. With that said, the car is 316 mm longer compared to the standard GT2 RS.
Attached to each corner are aerodynamically enhanced designed rims covered in slick performance rubber and fitted to the front end are LED lights lifted straight from the 919 Hybrid LMP1.
Last but not least, sticking out of the rear end are exposed titanium tailpipes that echo the 908 from the late 60’s.
Porsche will build 77 units of the spectacular 935 with first deliveries expected to arrive in mid-2019 least in the U.S. In Europe, one example of the Porsche 935 will set you back €701,948 or just under AED 3 Million.
While we’d like to keep that smile on your face, the 935 won’t be road-legal, which means owners will have only the track to play around on.
