Pininfarina’s hydrogen super car is going into production

Pininfarina is a name that has floated around for many years. Gracing the side of a Ferrari, Maserati or even a Rolls Royce, rarely build their own vehicles. Here is one of them, known as the H2 Speed, it was shown off as concept form with the underpinnings of an LMP2 race car, we all thought they would never put it into production.

Well, it looks like we’re all wrong! For those wondering what it will finally look like, sources firmly confirm that very little changes will be made from what you see in the pictures below and from what we’ve seen at various motor shows. This begs one question, will this be street legal?

Only 10 units of this creation will be pieced together and each one will hold a price tag of $2.5 million or AED 9,182,375.

Powering each unit is a hydrogen fuel cell and two electric motors channelling a combined 500 horsepower to the back wheels. Instead of pumping out harmful gases, this unique engine exerts out water vapour.

With such an engine, 0-100 km/h is achieved in a respectable 3.5 seconds and the vehicle can hit a top speed of 300 km/h. Even though it appears slower than the Ferrari 458, Lamborghini Huracan and Mclaren MP4-12C, it packs an engine unlike any other supercar.

Finding a similar car on the road will be quite a competition as the vehicle won’t be cleared for street use but instead, owners will be able to unleash their hydrogen beast on the track.

Nothing can compare to this online, but we do have new Porsche 918 Spyder and used Porsche 918 Spyder for sale in Dubai and Abu Dhabi.
