With the latest generation change adding the revitalised four cylinder motor, it appears as if the V6 may be powering its last coupe as the 2018 Mustang is to have only two engine choices.
Those two engine options are of course the 2.3-litre EcoBoost 4-cylinder petrol motor producing a respectable 310 horsepower and the beastly V8 5-litre petrol motor rated at 421 horses.
While we are unsure why the V6 engine is to be dropped from the 2018 Mustang’s lineup. Seeing as the EcoBoost power unit produces ten extra horsepower over the V6, this could be a factor.

On a lighter note, the 10-speed automatic is confirmed for both the 2018 Mustang and Camaro as the two have joined forces to bring the epic transmission to both coupes. MagnaRide dampers are also on the way for the Ford cars in 2018 trim with them already available exclusively on the Shelby GT350 and GT350R vehicles.
Additionally, to rival Chevy’s 1LE package, 2018 Mustangs are to receive a similar package most likely bearing the name Performance Package 2. A selection of new colours are to join the exterior paint jobs including Orange Fury, Royal Crimson, Kona Blue and the GT 350 exclusive Lead Foot Gray. Grabber Blue is to be discontinued after a year in circulation.
The colours are expected to be available for both engines whereas the performance package is only available for the heat stopping GT models.
