Nissan revealed the Hyper Force at the 2023 Japan Mobility Show, making it one of the standout reveals at this year’s motor show. It’s particularly intriguing as it could represent a new-era GT-R tailored for the modern age of electric mobility.
Nissan Hyper Force Exteriors
The exterior design combines sleek curves with bold geometry, reflecting the car’s impressive performance. Elements like the front and rear lamps pay homage to Nissan’s high-performance heritage. Other Exterior features include:
- Developed with the NISMO racing team for high aerodynamic performance.
- The two-tiered aerodynamic structure under the front hood for increased downforce and cooling.
- Dual-level rear diffuser optimizes airflow.
- Active aero features on front canards, front fender flip, and rear wing enhance performance.
- A newly developed plasma actuator minimizes air detachment, improving grip.
- Lightweight forged carbon wheels for enhanced aerodynamics and brake cooling.
Nissan Hyper Force Interiors
The Nissan Hyper Force features lightweight carbon fibre seats with four-point seat belts for the driver and front passenger offering both support and rigidity. Inside the PC game-inspired cabin, different modes correspond to various settings that are present automatically.
In R (Racing) Mode:
- The cabin lights up in red, creating a focused cockpit.
- Dashboard panels extend toward the seating area for an enhanced driving experience.
- Four satellite screens near the steering wheel display essential racing data including Tire grip, Temperature, Air pressure, Brake rotor temperature and Power distribution.
In GT (Grand Touring) Mode:
- The cabin transforms with soothing blue illumination.
- Screens around the steering wheel will be reconfigured for a simplified interface.
- Controls for infotainment features will include Air conditioning, Audio, Suspension & Stabilizer Settings.
The Nissan Hyper Force offers an innovative augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR) driving experience. With a special helmet, drivers can enjoy gamified VR driving when the car is stationary. Using AR skeleton visors, they can compete against digital ghosts on real-world tracks, enhancing driving skills safely.
Nissan Hyper Force Powertrain
The Nissan Hyper Force will be powered by four electric motors paired with a lightweight solid-state battery. The powertrain is slated to generate around 1,000kW, which roughly translates to 1,341hp. The four-electric-motor configuration also gives it the AWD capability, which Nissan calls the “e-4ORCE”. Also, Nissan will be developing a new world-first design for the suspension and stabilizers that can be easily adjusted on the screen while driving.
The electric GT-R will also feature a complete carbon-fibre construction for enhanced cornering and exceptional handling on circuits and winding roads. The Head-up Display (HUD) on the concept featured 200mph, which could indicate a top speed of around 320km/h. As mentioned earlier, the concept features the full-blown R (Racing) mode and the GT (Grand Touring) mode.
Nissan Hyper Force Safety
Safety is a key priority in this car concept. Equipped with an advanced autonomous drive featuring hyper LIDAR and a set of sports-tuned sensors, the vehicle is designed to maintain a high level of safety on both public roads and circuits.
