Volkswagen is on a roll with updates to various models, three have popped up so far including the Polo GTI, Passat CC and seven-seater Tiguan. Trailing behind those three is the next-generation Volkswagen Touareg which is scheduled to be unveiled in 2017.
Oddly enough, Touareg models aren’t wearing as much camo as the other models leading us to believe there isn’t a whole load of new pieces surrounding the exterior. Although there are subtle changes; wing mirrors move ever so slightly, and from the side hints of the Bentley Bentayga are visible. Upon further inspection, this model appears smaller than current generation models.

Underpinnings of the upcoming model are shared with Audi Q7, Bentayga and Porsche Cayenne and with no known powertrains we can expect many of the petrol, diesel and plug-in motors to power all four wheels. Don’t get too excited and think the Bentayga’s W12 engine to lurk underneath; there is a possibility, though.
Inside is not officially known, however, much like the Polo we’re expecting an enlarged centre console with navigation, Bluetooth and various other media options. A choice of fabric and leather will be on offer to cover all five seats unless there is a secret seven seated version on the way. Plus many other innovative and safety options.
Volkswagen has yet to spill the beans on when this updated model will hit showrooms and what price tag it will hold.
