Remember when the next Volkswagen Polo was spotted with no camo in a parking lot? Yes, you do. A month or so later, Volkswagen has officially revealed the latest version in an official video.
Unlike the previous pictures, the video shows a heavily camouflaged subcompact hatchback with not much to see regarding updates and features.
As we mentioned in the previous article, the Polo isn’t a significant step forward from the current model. So far, the German brand has confirmed the hatchback is based on the brands MQB A0 platform; which will also make an appearance underneath the next Skoda Fabia and Seat Ibiza.
Features of the model remain scarce. Although, the models are expected to borrow options from larger vehicles in the fleet. This includes a digital instrument cluster, enhanced infotainment system along with plusher materials covering the seats and dashboard and various other bits and pieces.
Engine options include a 1.5-litre TSI four cylinder petrol motor powering the front wheels. Rated at either 128 horsepower or 148 hp, a three-cylinder 1-litre engine is available in select regions including Europe and North America.
A diesel option will also be available as will a powerful 2-litre TSI four-cylinder petrol engine to power the range-topping GTi versions.
Latest reports have the Volkswagen Polo debuting later this year in September at the Frankfurt Motor Show. By then, we’re hoping to see more of the Volkswagen Polo, starting price and details of the GTi model.
Until then, we’ve got used Volkswagen for sale in Dubai.
