Earlier today, Toyota revealed the brand new Toyota Hiace in two layouts for both professional and personal users.
The latest Toyota Hiace rides on a longer wheelbase (+640mm longer) and has a wider (+255mm) and longer body (+570mm) in its base spec.
Based on a revised platform which is itself is “based on the design ideas of the TNGA” as per Toyota, the latest Hiace offers better comfort and is more rigid, quieter and safer compared to the model it replaces.
The lineup stays identical to the current version with the Normal/Standard Roof leading the way alongside the Long/High Roof variant. Multiple interior layouts also return including the ‘Commuter’ spec.
Cargo versions are here to stay with enough space for pallets from any country.
New for the Hiace range is the Toyota Saftey Sense package which includes active driver assistance systems as standard.
The new Toyota Hiace will first launch in the Philippines and then slowly make its way to other countries in Asia, the Middle East, Africa, Mexico and Latin America. In Japan, the current model will continue to be sold.
New Toyota Hiace models are available with a 2.8-litre 1GD diesel engine and a 3.5-litre 7GR petrol engine connected to either a manual or automatic transmission. There is no mention of the favorite 2.7-litre I4 returning which powers the current models.
