Ahead of its worldwide debut at a motor show later this year, BMW has lifted the wraps off their latest model, the BMW 6-Series GT.
Taking over from the previous 5-Series GT, BMW has taken in customer feedback about the previous model and tweaked the car in a number of ways.
First of all, the 6-Series GT measures in longer and lower than before and its rear end receives a redesign and now sits lower.
On top of its reworked measurements, BMW 6-Series GT vehicles are equipped with a larger front grille complemented with standard LED headlights on either side, frameless windows and wraparound taillights.
Inside, the cabin is highlighted with a 10.25-inch iDrive display with gesture control. Optionally available is a heads-up display, powered rear seats and a semi-autonomous driving system.
BMW 6-Series GT models are powered by three separate engines. 630i models are equipped with a 2-litre four cylinder mated to an eight-speed automatic gearbox. Rated at 254 horsepower and 400 Nm or torque, 0-100 km/h is attained in 6.3 seconds.
640i GT’s have a 3-litre straight six rated at 335 hp and 450 Nm of torque enabling the vehicle to launch to 100 in 5.3 seconds with the optional all-wheel drive system equipped.
The third and final unit is the 630d GT. Powered by a 3-litre six-cylinder diesel motor, this model is exclusive to Europe and rated at 261 hp and 620 Nm of torque resulting to a 100 km/h sprint of 6 seconds with all-wheel drive.
BMW 6-Series GT models are set to launch later this year in select markets with GCC showrooms receiving them shortly afterwards.
