The Nissan Patrol has long been a favourite among SUV enthusiasts, especially in the Middle East. Nissan revealed the new Patrol on 3 September at an event in Abu Dhabi. It is one of the highly anticipated car launches for this year. Here’s how the new updated SUV stacks up against the previous model.
Based On Infiniti QX80
The 2025 Nissan Patrol is heavily influenced by its luxury sibling, the Infiniti QX80. Both vehicles share the same platform. Like the QX80, the new Patrol is well-equipped with premium features. However, Nissan has ensured the Patrol maintains its rugged identity. The new Nissan Patrol is now codenamed Y63 Patrol.
Exterior Changes
The exterior of the 2025 Nissan Patrol has undergone significant changes in design. While maintaining its muscular stance, the new model features a more modern and sleek design, with sharper lines and a bolder front fascia.
New Dimensions
The new patrol is now 5,205mm in length (+35mm), 2,030mm in width (+35mm), and 1,955m in height (unchanged). The wheelbase is the same at 3,075mm as the outgoing model. However, the boot space is 30 per cent more than in the Y62.
New V-Motion Grille
The new SUV includes a wider V-motion grille integrated into the body, flanked by enhanced Double C-shaped headlights.
Rear LED Lightbar
The rear echoes the front grille design, featuring a full-width light bar for a cohesive look.
22-Inch Alloy Wheels
Available 22-inch alloy wheels enhance the Patrol’s formidable stance and provide high ground clearance for superior off-road performance.
Puddle Lamp Feature
The Patrol includes a Puddle Lamp that illuminates the ground with the iconic Nissan Patrol silhouette and the text “Since 1951” when occupants approach with the key fob or unlock the doors.
Colour Options
The Patrol is available in seven exterior colours, including four vibrant two-tone options.
Interior Changes
The 2025 Nissan Patrol’s interiors are refined and luxurious, borrowing elements from the Infiniti QX80.
Quilted Leather Seats
The refreshed interior features quilted leather seats with detailing inspired by Japanese Kumiko craft.
Massaging Seats
Selected trims offer massage functionality and eight-way adjustment for exceptional comfort.
Panoramic Sunroof
The Patrol includes a standard panoramic sunroof, enhancing the spaciousness and inviting natural light into the cabin.
Advanced Infotainment System
The infotainment system features a 28.6-inch horizontal Monolith display with twin 14.3-inch screens, providing navigation, entertainment, and vehicle information.
NissanConnect 2.0 with Google Built-In
The Patrol introduces NissanConnect 2.0 with Google Built-In, integrating navigation, security, and entertainment. It is available in the UAE and KSA, with a rollout planned for other GCC markets. This is the first Nissan vehicle in the region to feature Google Built-In, allowing seamless integration between the customer’s digital life and the vehicle.
Rear-seat Entertainment
Rear-seat passengers can enjoy dual 12.8-inch screens with Miracast, HDMI, or USB inputs.
64-colour Ambient Lighting
The cabin includes a customizable 64-colour ambient lighting system with live backgrounds to match any mood.
Klipsch Premium Audio System
The SUV features a 12-speaker Klipsch Premium Audio system with DynamicAudioReveal™ technology and DJX® 3D Surround for an immersive sound experience.
Biometric Cooling Technology
The Patrol offers Biometric Cooling technology, with an infrared sensor that detects body temperature and adjusts airflow settings automatically for intuitive cooling.
Power-folding Seats
EZ Flex seats allow easier access to the third row without removing a child seat, and a 3rd-row power fold and return function offer flexible storage.
Lower NVH Levels
The interior benefits from an all-new frame with improved dynamic torsional rigidity, damping acoustic glass for noise isolation, and elevated materials for a quieter and more serene driving experience.
