Engine & Transmission Options

One of the most significant changes in the 2025 Nissan Patrol is under the hood. The beloved 5.6-litre V8 engine, which has powered the Patrol for years, has been retired in favor of a new 3.5-litre twin-turbo V6, taken from the Infiniti QX80.

While it produces 450hp & 690Nm in the QX80, it has been slightly detuned in the new Patrol for a lower power output. Torque output in the Patrol is higher. In addition, Nissan has also introduced a new naturally-aspirated 3.8-litre V6 engine to replace the previous generation’s 4.0-litre NA V6.

2025 Nissan Patrol Engine Options & Specs:

3.5-litre VR35DDTT Twin-Turbo V6

  • 700Nm
  • 9-speed AT

3.8-litre Naturally-Aspirated V6

This move reflects the global automotive industry’s shift towards more efficient, yet powerful engines.
