Both the Mustang Shelby GT350 and GT350R will return for 2018 with an all too familiar look along with a surprise or two.
In a rather rare case, 2018 versions of the Mustang Shelby GT350 and GT350R won’t benefit from the facelifted Mustang fascia and instead will carry the looks from the previous generation.
Instead of offering minor updates, Ford is offering customers three paint jobs to apply to their 2018 Mustang Shelby GT350 or GT 350R. Lead Foot Grey, Kona Blue and Orange Fury.
Power once again is drawn from a powerful 5.2-litre naturally aspirated V8 that pushes the rev needle to its limits. Rated at 526 horsepower and 582 Nm of torque, Ford has some serious catching up to do if they want to take on the might Dodge Challenger Demon with its 840 hp petrol motor.
Brembo brakes and MagnaRide dampers return for another run too.
Late last year, reports suggested that both the Mustang Shelby GT350 and GT350R would receive dual-clutch transmission options. However, this has been debunked by Ford themselves. But that doesn’t stop us from dreaming the gearbox would make its way into 2019 or 2020 models of the iconic pony car.
Ford has yet to reveal how much the 2018 Mustang GT350 and GT350R will cost. We expect little to no changes regarding pricing as it’s pretty much the same car as the previous model.
