Mercedes-Benz has unveiled the PureSpeed concept car, marking a significant moment ahead of the 2024 Formula 1 Grand Prix in Monaco. This radical two-seater roadster eschews a conventional roof and windscreen, embracing a fully open-air driving experience that pays homage to the rich history of motorsport.
Mercedes-Benz Mythos Series
The PureSpeed serves as the inaugural model for the highly anticipated Mercedes-Benz Mythos series. This strictly limited production run, capped at only 250 units, signifies the pinnacle of exclusivity within the Mercedes-Benz brand.
The car is meticulously crafted for the most dedicated enthusiasts and collectors, offering a unique blend of unparalleled racing aesthetics seamlessly integrated with cutting-edge technological advancements.
F1-Inspired HALO System
The F1-inspired HALO system replaces the traditional A-pillar and windscreen. This safety effectively safeguards the driver’s head in the event of an accident, while its aerodynamically optimised design minimizes drag.
Furthermore, the HALO, coupled with two specially designed helmets, grants both driver and passenger an unparalleled field of vision. This replicates the exhilarating experience of a Formula 1 driver.
PureSpeed Design
The PureSpeed’s low silhouette and aggressive design are inspired by the Mercedes-AMG ONE hypercar. The roadster features carbon fibre elements that contrast beautifully with its smooth curves. The unique wheel design incorporates aerodynamic carbon fibre covers, with closed rear sections.

PureSpeed’s Engine & Gearbox
Oficial details remain under wraps. However, rumours suggest the PureSpeed might pack the powerful V8 from the SL Roadster. It might even get the top-of-the-line SL63 S E Performance’s hybrid powertrain.
