Making it’s grand at the 2019 Monterey car week, the Lotus Evija has made its way to the UAE for it’s Middle East debut.
Creating quite a stir around the world, the stunning hypercar is quite the car.
Set to go into production in 2020, the all-electric hypercar is the world’s most powerful series-production road car with a mammoth 1,973 horsepower and 1,700 Nm of torque.
Generating all that power is a 70 kWh lithium-ion battery pack, mounted in the middle of the car. With four electric motors bolted to each wheel, enough power is generated for a 400 km journey.
Limited to 130 units, the Evija pushes electric cars to the limit with a speculated 0-300 km/h time of under nine seconds. Throw that in with a claimed full recharge time of under 20 minutes, the EV is a force to be reckoned with.
According to Lotus, the British manufacturer has already received “strong double-figure orders.”
“We are delighted that our customers have the opportunity to view the Evija in the UAE so soon after its global reveal. We are proud to be in one of the most forward-thinking countries in the world, and the all-electric hypercar coming to the UAE supports our nation’s objective to focus on sustainable technologies.” Said Karl Hamer, CEO of Adamas Motors.
“It’s fantastic to be back in the UAE, and even better to be here as the Evija hypercar makes its regional debut,” said Phil Popham, CEO at Lotus cars. “The Middle East is well-known for its passion for performance models. and this is an important market.”
The Lotus Evija carries a price tag of AED 9.2 million excluding taxes.
Dubicars has used Lotus for sale in Dubai.
