We’ve already caught a glimpse of the upcoming Kia Stonic. Drenched in heavy camo, it left us wondering what to expect. Kia has kindly dropped official renderings that leave a lasting impression.
Set to rival the likes of the Nissan Juke/Kicks and Toyota C-HR, the Kia Stonic boasts flared out wheel arches, hidden door handles, sharp front end with the brand’s signature grille, sleek LED headlights and muscular rear end.
Before we all get too excited, remember these are renderings. While they are official from Kia, it may not showcase the final product. Although, we think they should stick with the styling to leave an imprint in everyone’s brain after making eye contact.
Kia didn’t reveal what we can expect of the interior although they have expressed the cabin will continue you the Kia Stonic’s flowing lines inside.
Additionally, you can expect the latest in-car technology on the options list including Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Kia has announced customers will be able to “heavily” customise both the interior and exterior of their Kia Stonic.
It remains a mystery what will power the Kia Stonic. In Europe, it’s rumoured to receive a 1.4-litre petrol motor and a 1.6-litre diesel engine. Across the pond in the States, a 1.6-litre petrol unit is rumoured.
We have heard front wheel drive is standard. It’s unknown if the South Korean brand will offer an all-wheel drivetrain.
Kia hasn’t officially revealed when the Kia Stonic will launch. However, we expect it to launch later this year or early 2018.
