Every car appears to be receiving a turbo motor nowadays, and the 2017 Soul is no exception anymore as the South Korean brand is ready to spice up the lineup with an agile new engine.
Kia now gives customers the option to drop a turbocharged 1.6-litre inline four cylinder GDI petrol motor underneath the bonnet of the 2017 Soul that is said to offer up at least 40 horsepower extra on top of the 161 hp which is already on tap. With a couple of button presses on the calculator, that equates to 201 horses. A perfect amount to rival the Mini Countryman.
To add to the newly found sportiness, the brand offers the turbo 2017 Soul exclusively with a seven-speed dual clutch gearbox that powers the front wheels. Kia has also bundled in a set of 18-inch rims fitted to each corner, dual chrome tips which are a first for the Soul, chrome grille trim and an exclusive Soul badge on the back.
Inside, Kia adds a leather-wrapped steering wheel, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay integration via the infotainment system mounted in the centre console as standard with a Harmon Kardon premium sound system and an 8-inch touchscreen interface available as an optional extra. Additionally, blind spot detection mirrors, a backup camera, rear cross traffic and rear parking sensors.
On top of all that, the 2017 Soul turbo also benefits from the revamped exterior styling which gives the vehicle a dash of extra soul.
