So you thought Lexus was winning the angular polygon game huh? Player two has entered the game and hails all the way from China. No need to adjust your eyes, and no your screen isn’t broken, this is exactly what Karlmann looks like and there is nothing else out there that can compare when it comes to its design.
If Picasso were alive today, he would be thrilled to see this masterpiece, but don’t get to close; you might poke your eye out. Rear lights look as if they come straight from the latest Tron movie; each rim features uniquely crafted 3D pyramid shapes and the designer even left enough space to implement two blind spot cameras.
Based on the Ford F-450, this work of art measures in at six metres in length and is powered by Ford’s very own ten-cylinder 6.8-litre Triton petrol engine rated at around 367 horsepower. You won’t be making a statement at high speed, but you will when the camera’s start flashing.
With its eye-catching exterior, the interior sits on the same level as the 2017 Bentley Bentayga. While there are hints of the original Ford components most notably the centre console, gear lever and dashboard cluster. The Chinese company have removed one seat from the rear opting for a more enticing four seats covered in a mix of high-grade leather and alcantara, and a host of exquisite features including a storage compartment for your favourite beverage along with two glasses, teacup storage, reclining rear seats and the list goes on.
If you’re expecting a lot of boot space think again and if you are thinking “damn I really want one of those”, hurry up as only ten units of the IAT Karlmann are to be built over an unspecified amount of years and each unit will cost around 1.85 million USD or approximately AED 6,795,327. Pocket change right?
Concerning competitors, a few spring to mind, i.e., the International MXT and CXT, Hummer H1 or anything Dartz has on offer when it comes to stand out SUV’s. Saying that, Dartz is the only one that comes close when it comes to extravagant options.
Love it or hate it, seeing this roll down Shaikh Zayed Road or parked outside Dubai Mall, you’ll be staring for a while.
It’ll be a while until we see one of these on the roads of the UAE, in the meantime, you can check out used Hummer H1, International MXT or International CXT for sale in Dubai.
Shout out to Auto Sina for the pics!
