Spotted testing in Europe, here is out first glimpse of the Jaguar XE SVR. A first of many we hope.
As with other SVR vehicles Jaguar Land Rover have in their stable, the Jaguar XE SVR obviously ship with an identical 5-litre Supercharged V8 motor powering the rear wheels. Or could we see an all-wheel drive platform similar to the Range Rover Sport and F-Type?
Controlled by an 8-speed automatic gearbox, before you get too excited about horsepower figures, let just keep a cool head and keep those fingers crossed for at least 500 horsepower if not more.
Don’t dream up 567 horsepower similar to that of the Jaguar F-Type SVR. However, with 500 horses on tap, that’s a shoe into rival BMW and Mercedes-Benz equivalents.
Not only will the Jaguar XE SVR get that all important potent motor, but exterior modifications are also somewhat visible from the spy shots.
For example, the quad exhaust layout sticking out of the rear, larger alloy rims on each corner and extended side skirts. A closer inspection of the front end also reveals a strange sheet of plastic covering up the air intakes.
We certainly applaud its covering skills as we’re certain those air vents are to debut with a sportier look.
Inside, expect all of the traditional Jaguar features with a few SVO options thrown in.
In other news, rumour has it the XE Coupe has been put on hold. For those hoping for a British rival to the famed BMW M4, you may need to hang on a little while longer.
