After the successful launch of the brand’s first venture into the SUV market with the Jaguar F-Pace, the British badge has confirmed that is indeed another SUV to come this time with the name I-Pace.
Powering all four wheels of the new SUV is a pairing of electric motors and a 90 kWh lithium-ion battery pack. Combined, the three are claimed to generate 400 horsepower which is the identical amount to the upcoming F-Type SVR along with 700 Nm of torque.
With numbers like that, the I-Pace should be able to hit 100 km/h from standstill in four seconds! The manufacturers first all-electric SUV can be charged via a 50kW DC charger that can fill up the electric bank in just two hours. With such a short time to charge, the I-Pace can travel for 500 kms on a single charge.
Jaguar has confirmed the I-Pace is set to go on sale in late 2018 meaning GCC showrooms are to obtain it around the same time or early 2019. If you’re interested in purchasing one, they are ready to pre-order on the official website. Make note, that no price tag has been confirmed.
Tesla’s Model X appears to be the vehicles prime target, but with its launch still over a year away, there is no doubt other auto manufacturers will jump on the bandwagon and join the newly opened all-electric SUV.
We haven’t got any of the Jaguar SUV’s online, but we do have new Jaguar and used Jaguar for sale in Dubai, Sharjah and Abu Dhabi.
