Automotive companies just love showing off new technology and updates to their latest models, however, some companies just can’t wait until the next motor show somewhere around the world to unveil their latest and greatest. Infiniti did it before Frankfurt with the Q30 and they’ve done again before next month’s Detroit Motor Show showing off their refreshed QX60.
The front-end receives the most love in this refresh, with a new double-arched grille, bi-xenon headlights which are now standard coupled with LED daytime running lights, revamped fog lights and lots of chrome finishing. There are other changes to various other lights around the vehicle such side indicators and rear tail lamps. New chrome trim has been added to the rear hatch.
It’s not all cosmetic changes, underneath the bodywork are new shock absorbers and spring units for a smoother more comfortable ride and less body roll whilst cornering. Various parts of the chassis can be added to the update list. The electronic power steering system also receives an overhaul for more improved response when the driver turns the wheel. On top of that, Infiniti has added a rotary drive mode selector inside, for drivers to select different roads depending on the road surface or sportier ride.
Inside hasn’t been left out of the touch-up, slightly less noticeable with the instrument panel being covered in soft fabric and opposite colour stitching, completely re-designed gear shifter and a couple of buttons have been giving an overhaul. As standard, a one-touch open/close sliding moonroof with tinted glass and tilt feature plus acoustic glass has been added to further improve cancellation road noise.
The seven seats are still standard covered in leather with dual screen rear entertainment for those in the back.
Under the bonnet, there’s a six-cylinder 3.5-litre petrol engine pumping out 265 horsepower and 336 Nm of torque, good enough for a top speed of 200 km/h and a 0-100 km/h of 8.8 seconds. A hybrid option is available with a supercharged 2.5-litre petrol inline four-cylinder engine, combined with a lithium-ion battery pack and an electric motor good for 250 horsepower and 329 Nm of torque. Power will either be sent to all four wheels or to the front wheels.
When buying an Infiniti QX60, the Japanese manufacturer has including as standard their concierge package for 24/7 assistance. On top of Infiniti’s Personal Assistant, front emergency braking, parking assists, pedestrian detection system and multiple cameras to provide a bird’s eye view are all thrown in for safety purposes.
Customers can choose between one of seven unique colour choices: Majestic White, Obsidian Black, Hermosa Blue, Liquid Platinum, Graphite Shadow, Hagane Blue and Jade Green.
This early reveal may be because of the Japanese luxury brand’s new rather potent VR twin-turbocharged 3.0-litre V6 motor dropped into their latest Q50’s as that will take centre stage in Detroit.
Revised Infiniti QX60 vehicles are set to roll out sometime next year, US pricing starts off at just over $42,000 (approx 154,263 AED). Dubicars.com has a handful of new Infiniti QX60 and used Infiniti QX60 for sale in Dubai
