The Ineos Grenadier Quartermaster has been revealed at the 2023 Goodwood Festival of Speed. It is in essence, a double-cab pickup truck version of the highly-acclaimed Ineos Grenadier SUV. Hence, it retains the boxy looks and the powertrain is shared as well. However, the Quartermaster offers more load-lugging flexibility and capacity.
Rugged Exterior
Up front, there isn’t much to differentiate the Quartermaster from the standard Grenadier. It still features circular headlamps that flank the grille with the signature integration of the fog lamps into the grille. The horizontal slats on the grille are more pronounced with the addition of chrome strips. The bumper and bash plate carry a rugged and utilitarian look.
Move over to the side though, and the difference is quite apparent. It is a proper double-cab pickup truck and the load bay is pretty large. It does still get the high roofline and rugged doors while the door hinges are still very much visible. It rides on steel wheels which further enhances the ruggedness and raw appeal.
Utilitarian & Practical
The load bay of the Grenadier Quartermaster is 1,564mm long and 1,619mm wide, which is pretty spacious. Grenadier claims it can easily hold a Euro pallet in its load bay. If you intend to carry your off-road motorcycle in the load bay, you can do so with the rear wheel of the motorcycle resting on the tailgate which is rated to support a weight of 225 kilograms when open.
The Ineos Grenadier Quartermaster can also be optioned with a few accessories depending on the need and use case:
- Robust frame with waterproof canvas canopy
- Lockable roller tonneau cover
- Roof rack with mounts for off-road accessories like shovels, jerry cans, etc.
The interior is identical to the Ineos Grenadier SUV and there is seating for five. The seats are rugged and the rear now features a bench seat.
BMW Power
The Ineos Grenadier Quartermaster is powered by BMW-sourced 3.0-litre inline-six-cylinder engines. However, Ineos hasn’t revealed the exact specifications for the UAE market. That being said, we can expect similar specifications as other international markets.
The turbo-petrol engine has an output of 282hp and 450Nm which leads to a 0-100km/h time of 8.8 seconds. The turbo-diesel engine on the other hand puts out 245hp and 550Nm and has a 0-100km/h acceleration time of 9.8 seconds. Both the petrol and diesel variants are electronically limited to a top speed of 159km/h.
Heavy-Duty Off-Road Hardware
The Ineos Grenadier has brilliant off-road credentials and the Quartermaster pickup truck is no different. Here are a few off-road-ready features of the Grenadier Quartermaster:
- 264mm Ground Clearance
- 800mm Water Wading Depth
- Centre Differential Lock
- Two-Speed Transfer Case
- Optional Front & Rear Locking Differentials
- 17 or 18-inch Off-Road Wheels With AT Tyres
