As for the entertainment side, an 8-inch media display plants itself in the centre console to display satellite navigation, Apple CarPlay amongst other options. We can’t forget the Bluetooth pairing choices, wireless phone charging, dual-zone climate control, keyless start, USB and AUX options inside the 2018 Elantra GT.
Cooled seats are also pictured making this an ideal candidate for the UAE.
201 horsepower powers through the 1.6-litre turbocharged petrol engine with 265 Nm of torque. Channelling those horses to the front wheels is a choice between a seven-speed dual clutch or a six-speed manual.
South Korea’s first real rival to the Golf GTi is destined for American and European shores by the end of 2017. We’ll keep our fingers crossed; the 2018 Elantra GT ends up in UAE showrooms.
Prices have yet to be announced for the hot hatch. It’s worth noting that certain parts of the world are to receive the model as part of the i30 family instead of the Elantra brand.
