The GWM TANK brand has been officially launched in the UAE. Swaidan Motors, a division of Al Naboodah Group & the authorised distributor of Great Wall Motor announced the arrival of GWM’s SUV brand TANK in the UAE. TANK is a sub-brand of Great Wall Motor and currently manufactures the TANK 300 & TANK 500 SUVs. Both SUVs are now officially available in the UAE.
Great Wall Motor & TANK In China
Headquartered in Baoding, China, Great Wall Motor is one of the largest car manufacturers in the Republic. It was established in 1984 and over the last few decades has established multiple brands. In 2020, GWM’s brand Wey introduced the TANK 300 off-road SUV. Post the launch, in 2021 GWM announced that a new brand named TANK would be created and dedicated to the production of SUVs.
2021 saw the creation of the TANK sub-brand and the TANK 300 became the first product in the new brand. In August 2021, the TANK 500 Luxury SUV was introduced. Since then TANK has become the largest producer of SUVs in the Chinese market and has been rapidly expanding to other countries. Now, the TANK 300 & TANK 500 SUVs are officially available in the UAE too.
Swaidan Motors Launches GWM & TANK To The UAE
Swaidan Motors has already established GWM showrooms in Sharjah, Deira & at Sheikh Zayed Road. The GWM showroom in Deira will retail TANK SUVs as well. Swaidan has also established a regional parts distribution centre in Jebel Ali to ensure the ready availability of spare parts for all GWM cars.

TANK 300
The first-ever TANK SUV is also the entry-level product from the brand with prices starting at AED 125,000. The TANK 300 is a modern SUV with an old-school rugged design & styling. The circular headlamps, boxy design, and tall stance make the SUV look great.
It doesn’t just look off-road ready but comes with serious off-road abilities. It is powered by a 2.0-litre inline-four-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine that puts out 223hp and 387Nm. It features a capable 4WD system with low range which gives it the go-anywhere capability that is sought from an SUV like this.
TANK 500
Revealed at the Chengdu Auto Show in August 2021, the TANK 500 is a luxury SUV manufactured by TANK. It features a modern interior, leather seats, a 12.3-inch screen for instrumentation, and a 14.6-inch screen for infotainment. Measuring nearly five metres in length, the TANK 500 can seat seven people in comfort. Powering the TANK 500 is a 3.0-litre turbocharged V6 petrol engine that puts out 349hp in its standard form.
Both SUVs are on display at the TANK showroom in Deira, Dubai.
