After two years of availability in the market, the Jaguar XE has been spotted stretching its legs on the Nurburgring. Is that a minor facelift we see there?
Working its way through the tough corners, this Jaguar XE is wearing very little camo that hides parts of the front bumper, side skirts and rear bumper.
However, there are no major changes to report as everything else look identical to current models including the lighting units, grille and other parts.
If it isn’t a minor facelift, this particular Jaguar XE could be showing off a sports model or an optional trim package. There is also the potential that this one is hiding a smaller 2-litre turbocharged four cylinder motor, similar to that of the recently announced F-Type sports car.
Rumour has it, the British brand is looking to expand the Jaguar XE lineup with an SVR version in the near future. Likely to rival BMW’s M3 and Mercedes’s C63, XE SVR models would pack a 5-litre V8 supercharged motor borrowed from the F-Type.
Estimated to ship with at least 500 horsepower, an 8-speed automatic gearbox powering the rear wheels, upgraded components, aggressive styling, unique rims and other SVR touches.
Not only will it be improved to the naked eye, it will also be more aerodynamic and sharper.
We’ll know more in the coming months about the updated Jaguar XE.
