Beijing motor show ended last month, and while everyone was distracted by the IAT Kalman and the Arcfox-7, Nissan was off somewhere in the corner quietly showcasing the facelifted Nissan Tiida.
Right off the bat, it’s new front end is what draws your attention as it’s sporting a very familiar ‘V’ shape that Nissan is adding to spruce up their line-up. Restyled front and rear bumpers are present along with new front and rear light housing, extra lines on either side and new rims to boot. With all the cosmetic upgrades, it’s enough to make us want one.
On show, a 1.6-litre four cylinder petrol motor was hidden underneath the bonnet. And inside, quite the upgrade has been applied. 7-inch infotainment screen graces the centre console presumably with the likes of Bluetooth pairing options and other technological features that aren’t present in this generation of Tiida’s. AUX inputs returns and is now joined by a USB input.
Other options include keyless go, dual zone climate control, sunroof and multi-functional steering wheels. Besides all the gizmos, leather upholstery is on the menu alongside standard fabric.
Safety features on offer too, blind spot detection, forward emergency braking, lane departure assist and multiple airbags. Not all come as standard across the board.
This Nissan Tiida is officially confirmed for the Chinese market, with other markets unconfirmed if they will receive the new funky fresh looking Japanese hatchback. If it does traverse its way across the ocean, GCC version should receive a 1.8-litre four cylinder engine with rumours stating a 1.2-litre turbocharged powerplant could pop up in other markets.
Note that it’s not just the engine that was region exclusive, other options follow suit as they are said to be only available in China. We’ll just have to keep our fingers crossed we to get all these goodies.
2017 Nissan Tiida Price and release date have yet to be announced.
