RTA’s Efforts
His Excellency Mattar Al Tayer, Director General and Chairman of the Board of Executive Directors at the RTA, attributed this success to several factors:
- The RTA has consistently invested in expanding and upgrading the public transport network. This includes the world’s longest driverless Metro network, the Dubai Tram, and extensive bus route expansions.
- Dubai boasts a modern fleet of 1,400 buses adhering to strict Euro 6 emission standards, ensuring a cleaner and more sustainable commute.
- The RTA offers a seamless network that integrates various modes, allowing for easy transfers and convenient travel across the city.
New Projects For 2024
The RTA’s commitment to public transport continues with the upcoming launch of the Dubai Metro Blue Line project in 2024. This ambitious project spans 30 kilometres and connects key areas. It promises to further enhance Dubai’s transportation infrastructure and cater to the growing population.
Overall, the 2023 Dubai Public Transport Usage Report shows a positive trend. This highlights the increasing popularity of sustainable and convenient travel options in the city. With ongoing investments and expansion plans, Dubai’s public transport network is poised for even greater in 2024.
