We’re all familiar with the standard “Don’t text and drive” campaigns all over the world and we urge all of followers and readers not to text and drive as it distracts one’s vision from what’s going on around oneself. We’d also like advise our readers that it’s probably not a good idea to take pictures of the rain while you drive.
With the winter season fast approaching the UAE and sporadic showers of rain already sprinkling down across the country, police in Abu Dhabi are already concerned about road accidents that could occur on the road in the coming months especially with the use of mobile phones.
Abu Dhabi Police has issued a statement warning motorists not to take pictures of the rain as it is a traffic violation and those caught doing so will receive a fine of AED 800 and four black points on their license.
According to Article 32 of the Federal Traffic Law, using a mobile phone will driving is considered as distracted driving.
Drivers of the UAE, you have been warned! If you want to take pictures of the rain, make sure you’re not behind the wheel of a moving vehicle.
