Dodge expands 2017 Ram lineup in UAE and GCC

Dodge Middle East is set to expand their 2017 Ram lineup, which consists of the Ram 1500, Rebel, Limited and a smaller pickup that looks rather familiar.

The Ram 1200 is ready to launch in 2017 with two or four-door setups. From a distance, it appears to look like a Mitsubishi L200, but upon further inspection and a quick glimpse of the side, Dodge and Ram logos are evident.

Powering the wheels is a 2.4-litre four cylinder petrol engine rated at 130 horsepower and paired to manual gearbox as standard. A diesel option is available with a 2.5-litre displacement which is rated at 126 horses. An automatic gearbox is also on the menu to power the rear wheels in base trim and all four of them as an optional extra.

2017 Ram 1200 models are capable of hauling a 1,165 kg payload and is able to tow 3 tonnes! Don’t try doing it together, as performance may be ultra sluggish. These models are also exclusive to the GCC regions, take that rest of the world!

As for the other pickups, the 1500 is set to receive additional trim levels including Sport and Long Horn. Both the Rebel and Limited models are new to the region and there are talks of the 2017 Ram 2500 landing in the region in the not so distant future.

No price points have been revealed for any of the models at the time of writing.
