According to local papers in the UAE, as of today, motorists in Dubai and vehicle owners who have a Dubai residency visa must have their vehicles tested for re-registration in the Emirate.
During the Covid-19 lockdown, residents were able to do the entire process online without the need of a physical vehicle test as part of the #StayHome directives.
This is only applicable to Dubai residents and Dubai visa holders.
Vehicle owners who used the RTA’s online services to re-register their vehicle will not have to come in and test their vehicle, and their mulkiya will remain valid until the expiration date shown.
Furthermore, fines incurred before the re-registration date need to be paid off before getting a new mulkiya.
Previously, motorists in Dubai did not have to pay off their fines when renewing their vehicle or other vehicles under their name.
Vehicle owners can pay their fines online or via the kiosks at the registration centres.
