Bentley may have been the first to strike with their extravagant Bentayga SUV, but with Rolls-Royce and Maybach soon to launch their own over the top SUVS, BMW wants some of that action. Their weapon of choice, the BMW X7.
To those unaware, the German brand has been piecing together the idea of a range-topping SUV for some time although the X5 filled that void pretty well. BMW wanted more, and with the BMW X7 on the way, they’ve found the perfect way to rival the premium brands.
By removing the third row and the middle seat from the second row of course! This gives the cabin an upgraded executive feel as rear passengers benefit from the additional space providing more comfort.
It comes as an odd move for the German Brand to launch an executive SUV with Project Cullinan on the way, which is if you didn’t know is Rolls Royce’s SUV. However, there is some reasoning to be said here, BMW and Rolls Royce cater towards two completely crowds and they are two built on two separate platforms.
The German powerhouse hasn’t confirmed what engines will be available for the BMW X7. WE expect to see a V6 and V8 motors lifted straight from the 7-Series as well as a plug-in hybrid model. On top of that, a V12 motor is rumoured to join in giving the humongous SUV equal pulling power to those previously mentioned 4×4’s.
