Headlights! Headlights galore! In the past week, a handful of Bimmers has been spotted with production ready headlights. First, it was the new 3-Series now it’s BMW X7 flashing its high beams.
Cloaked in heavy camo as we’re used to seeing now, front lights aren’t heavily clocked showing signature BMW lights with an LED daytime light running along the top.
Underneath those annoying swirls is an extended version of CLAR platform which is already used in both 5-Series and 7-Series lineups. In the not so distant future, BMW will use the CLAR future for most of their vehicles; from the 3-Series and up.
It’s not just BMW that has been spotted recently with heavy camo and production headlights. Toyota’s upcoming Supra has also been spotted with headlights visible.
BMW X7 models will be built in the US in 2018 and will make its production debut as a 2019 model.
The range topping SUV will feature a wide variety of engines including six and eight cylinder units in both petrol and diesel variants. After launch, they’ll be joined by a plug-in hybrid and eventually a V12.
We’ll get our first glimpse of the X7 next month at the Frankfurt Motor Show.
BMW’s latest SUV will go head to head with Range Rover and the Mercedes-Benz GLS SUV lineup with plenty of room and state-of-the-art technology.
As it stands, both German brands may have the upper hand as Range Rover has no plans to add a third row where as both Mercedes and BMW offer seven seater versions.
Dubicars.com has new BMW and used BMW for sale in Dubai, Sharjah, Abu Dhabi and Ajman.
