Just before BMW swap out the old for the new, the 2018 1-Series has been revealed with slight modifications and unchanged power outputs.
Outside, the 2018 1-Series looks similar to 2017 models with a new set of rims to choose from. To add some variety to the lineup, BMW has announced a selection of exterior colours including an eye catching shade of Sunset Orange and Seaside Blue.
2018 1-Series hatchbacks benefit from an equally light refreshed interior including a new instrument panel, centre console, air-conditioning outlets, chrome highlights and a cover for the cup holders.
The onboard iDrive infotainment system receives an update along with a Wi-Fi hotspot for up to ten devices to connect at any given time.
Engines remain identical to last years model; starting with 1.5-litre petrol motors with outputs ranging from 107 and 134 horsepower. For an extra kick, a selection 2-litre four cylinder engines rated between 181 and 221 hp.
Topping the range is the 3-litre straight six motor rated at an impressive 340 horses.
Those who prefer a rear-wheel drive hatchback layout, 2018 1-Series will be the last to utilise RWD as next-gen versions of the hatchback will switch over to a front engine front-wheel drive platform in an effort to reduce weight.
Not only will the next 1-Series weigh less, buyers will welcome a larger presence resulting in more legroom inside plus a selection of new power units to power the two front wheels.
2018 1-Series are destined for UAE showrooms early next year.
