BMW has yet to peel away the heavy camouflage covering the BMW M850i, but they’ve kindly released information regarding its powertrain plus a few features also a lucky few have already taken it out for a spin!
Packing a ‘completely redeveloped V8 engine,’ the BMW M850i pushes out a respectable 523 horsepower and 750 Nm of torque. While its no M5, it does exert 67 more horses compared to the 650i. Connected to an eight-speed automatic gearbox driving all four wheels, the model should be able to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in just four seconds.
It’s not all about power with the BMW M850i
As you would expect, the model is packed with performance-oriented equipment with key highlights being adaptive M suspension with active roll stabilisation and an integral active steering system. BMW has also said the model will have a sports exhaust system.
And it doesn’t stop there; the sporty coupe is fitted with electronically controlled dampers and a dynamic stability control system that BMW claim are “precisely oriented to the selected driving mode”. Regarding drive modes, according to the German manufacturer, Sport and Sport+ settings will deliver more engine sound and power delivery.
The BMW M850i, its interior and the rest of the 8-series lineup will be revealed on the 15th of June and will go on sale towards the end of the year. Pricing will be made available closer to the end of the year.
