Hot off the press is BMW’s new entry-level sporty coupe known as the M2, the Bavarian manufacturer may have another animal caged up somewhere else that really needs to see the light of day. With the recent Tokyo Motor Show BMW let the beast free, known as the BMW M4 GTS, it’s the track day car you really want to own.
It’s certainly been given the track day treatment pack with a new front splitter and massive rear spoiler, it’s also shed some weight dropping an estimated 91 kgs possibly due to the lack of rear seats and heavy usage of carbon fibre. Now, you now there is only room for two people on the racing seats but there is good reason for this and not just to save weight, to make room for the roll cage to improve handling.
Inside much of the same features of the standard M4 make the transition across such as navigation, Bluetooth pairing, iDrive computer system, media inputs, heads-up display and more.
As for rivals out there on the road, we’ve got to turn our attention to other quick coupes fit for track days such as the Porsche Cayman GT4 and Audi RS5

A very limited production of just 700 vehicles are to be built with roughly 300 destined for the United States, that leaves just 400 for the rest of the world to fight over. If you want one, better hurry your local dealer and attempt to order one if they aren’t sold out already.
For the first time ever is a street-legal production car, a water-cooled injection system is to be used to cool “intake air”. How does it work? You may be asking and how does it improve performance? Simple, water absorbs heat and evaporates into mist thus lowering air temperature being taken in. Ok maybe it is a bit more complex than originally thought, it does increase performance though, increased boost and more efficient spark timing. This system bumps the horsepower up by 68 horsepower and 48 Nm of torque. New LED light technology is making its way to the rear of the car as well.
Did we mention the coat of paint? Sapphire Black, Mineral Grey, Alpine White and Frozen Dark Grey are the choices with optional orange highlights on the front splitter with complementing orange accented 19-inch rims up front and 20-inch rims at the rear covered in performance rubber.
GTS nameplates seem to be a popular item to add to vehicles, Porsche unveiled the Macan GTS at the same Auto Show and for those interested it stands for Grand Touring Sport, which makes sense as these cars are sporty than standard models.
BMW has not given an official release date for the M4 GTS, expect it to over sometime next year and if you can not wait check out all used BMW M4 for sale in Dubai.
