The Audi TT, a stylish and sporty coupe and roadster, was discontinued after 25 years of production. The final Audi TT rolled off the production line at Audi’s Győr, Hungary plant on August 31, 2023. A total of 662,762 sports cars were made during its production lifetime.
The Audi TT was first introduced in 1995 as a concept car at the Frankfurt Motor Show. It went into production in 1998 and quickly became a popular choice for drivers seeking a fun and stylish car. The TT garnered praise for its handling, performance, and design.
Over its 25-year production run, the Audi TT was available in various configurations, including coupe, roadster, and high-performance RS models. The TT was also offered with a range of engines, including turbocharged four-cylinder and five-cylinder options.
There are several reasons why Audi has decided to discontinue the TT. One reason is the declining sales of the TT in recent years. Another significant factor is Audi’s strategic shift towards electric vehicles, with the automaker announcing a substantial €15 billion investment in electric vehicles by 2025.
Enthusiasts are expected to continue favoring the Audi TT despite its discontinuation, as the well-designed and well-engineered features, distinctive style, impressive performance, and exceptional handling make it a memorable choice.
