After being spotted in various locations around Europe, recent reports suggest the drop top version of the Mercedes AMG GT is to strip off all of its camo and show off its new roof at the upcoming Paris Motor Show in October.
Once again spotted with a soft cloth collapsable roof, convertible models are said to slot in between standard AMG models and the future face destroying 2017 Mercedes GT R model of which only 2000 models are rumoured to be built. Roadster models are said to borrow individual bits and pieces from GT R which could result in slightly more power and additional trim pieces.
Underneath the bonnet is still the same rear wheel driven 4.0-litre V8 turbo engine exerting over 500 horsepower enabling a 0-100 time of fewer than 4 seconds and a top speed of over 300 km/h.
And the Paris unveiling doesn’t stop there as the Ferrari LaFerrari Aperta, 2017 Porsche Panamera and special edition Ferrari models plus many others.

2017 model will breathe a breath of fresh air into the Mercedes-Benz lineup which includes the new E-Class sedan, Coupe, Cabrio and station wagon. The upcoming unnamed pickup that is slated to launch in certain regions and potentially the United States along with the updated GLA crossover and mildly upgraded S-Class.
Mercedes hasn’t announced a price for the future soft top convertible sports car. It is expected to launch shortly after the motor show.
