13 years may have gone by, but the Nissan Pathfinder is still going strong and is to receive quite a healthy dose of enhancements in 2017 trim.
Nissan says that over 50% of the engine is brand new even though it’s powered by the same old 3.5-litre V6 motor pumping out 284 horsepower and around 351 Nm of torque. Towing power increases with the SUV now able to drag 2,720 kilos which are quite a bit more than previous generations.
With all the new components chucked in, fuel economy rises which is greatly appreciated.
Inside, the Japanese brand has upgraded the media interface and centre console in general and now strikes up a resemblance to premium SUV’s in the brand’s lineup aka the Nissan Patrol. This includes premium features in top trim levels or Platinum; cooled front seats, dual rear TV screens and possibly a fridge in the centre console. Basically, It’s a Patrol wearing a different outfit. Two other trims are available besides the fully loaded version.
Exterior wise, the upcoming ‘V’ front end which the Japanese manufacturer has already added to the upcoming GT-R, Tiida, Micra, Juke and others will nestle into the Pathfinder’s nose with a much larger width along with retouched headlights.
2017 Nissan Pathfinder models are ready to enter the Saudi market in September this year with an expected starting price of SR 115,000. UAE showrooms will presumably receive the latest incarnation of the SUV at the same time.
