Not a single month has gone by recently without some form of the Ferrari LaFerrari Spyder being speculated, however, Ferrari themselves have confirmed that the epic hybrid will be up for grabs for a select few.
The Spyder moniker won’t be added to its name officially. Instead, Aperta will be used as it was also used on the hardcore Ferrari 458 convertible before.
No modifications to the engine are stated, leaving the 6.3-litre V12 to pump out 789 horsepower and the electric motor to exert 160 horsepower for a grand total of 950 hp. Seeing as Ferrari cut the roof off of the 488 GTB and still managed to retain it’s 0-100 km/h time at a blistering 3 seconds, roofless LaFerrari’s will do the same and zip from standstill to 100 km/h in 2.5 seconds.
Remember at the start, it’s mentioned that this exquisite work of art will be made available for a select few, well those select few have put down their down payments on the limited edition meaning all are accounted for. Sad news aside, there is no doubt that a handful will pop up for sale in Dubai.
Ferrari never revealed the exact price, but there is no question that a premium on top of the closed roof variant was present.
While official production numbers, it’s rumoured that 200 will be pieced together for those lucky enough. For us mere mortal’s, we’ll have to wait until the Paris Motor Show in October to get a real glimpse of the legendary hypercar.
