2018 Honda CR-V gets 7 seater option

It’s hard to believe that the Honda CR-V has been in the market for such a long time, and it’s taken the Japanese Manufacturer this long to realise that a seven seater version is a perfect addition to the line-up.

Sure five and occasionally four seater SUV’s are incredibly popular nowadays, but there is still a huge demand for a third row, and Honda is now capitalising on that with 2018 Honda CR-V models.

Entering its fifth generation, the CR-V grows to not only accommodate the extra row of seats but to set itself apart from the baby HR-V SUV in Honda’s line up. With a release window of late 2017, rivals such as the Nissan X-Trail, Kia Sorento and others have some time to rake in the customers before the number one selling SUV in North America hits the market.

Inside, it’s said that the infotainment system will blast into the future with navigation, Bluetooth and most notably smartphone integration with the potential of Apple CarPlay.

As standard, drive is sent to the front wheels with the option of having all-wheel drive as a premium features. A six-speed manual is the norm with a nine-speed automatic being available at a price. Engine specs aren’t entirely known although it’s said that 1.5 and 1.6-litre four cylinder motors could power the SUV with the possibility of a returning 2.0-litre motor equipped with the latest technology and a plug-in hybrid version.

Looking for a current-generation CR-V? Look no further as we’ve got new Honda CR-V and used Honda CR-V for sale in Dubai, Sharjah and Abu Dhabi.

  1. Would love to try that but only addingn2 extra seat won’t fetch extra sale for this lovely vehicle. You need to modify engine to compete in this league of 7 seaters with the likes of 3.5 V6 Nisssan path finder, Palermo to 4 Ltr V6 Toyota Fortuner and Prado & Nissan Exterra etc. I hope Honda is not trying to make a minivan just to carry 7 people without giving sufficient punch from the engine.
