New NIO EL8 Launched In The UAE: Prices Start At AED 359,900

Electric Powertrain

Much like all NIO cars, the EL8 also features battery-swapping technology, which allows for the battery to be replaced in under three minutes. Powering the EL8 are two electric motors: the front features a 180 kW SiC permanent magnet motor, while the rear has a 300 kW induction motor.

The EL8 is equipped with a dual-chamber air suspension system, which automatically adjusts the vehicle’s ride height and damping control based on driving conditions. The SUV features multiple drive modes: Eco, Comfort, Sports, + Sports, Sand, Snow, Wet & Custom. 

Exterior Design

The exterior design of the NIO EL8 combines elegance, technology, and aerodynamics, with distinct features that set it apart in the premium SUV market.

• The front of the EL8 features Double Dash front lights, a signature NIO design element. It also has an X-Bar front design, which enhances its visual presence and sleekness.
• The flush windows, fender-integrated cameras, and invisible roof rails ensure that the vehicle has clean lines without any interruptions, contributing to its aerodynamic efficiency.
• The floating roof effect created by the blacked-out pillars adds a touch of elegance.
• The rear is equipped with full-width taillights, adding to the vehicle’s contemporary and stylish appearance.
• The EL8 comes standard with 20-inch alloy wheels, but there are also options for 21-inch and 22-inch wheels, depending on customer preferences.

The interior design of the is a blend of luxury, technology, and sustainability, creating a premium environment for both drivers and passengers. The EL8 emphasizes eco-friendly materials throughout the cabin. This includes the use of plant-based leathers, rattan, and soybean foam for seating. 

Designed as a six-seater, the EL8 provides ample space for passengers, making it family-friendly. The Premium Comfort Package comes standard and includes hot stone massage functions for both the first and second-row seats. The second- and third-row seats are also ventilated for added comfort.

Warranty

NIO is offering a 3-year/100,000km warranty on the pick-up. While the battery pack and the electric motor come with an 8-year/200,000km warranty. 

NIO EL8 In the UAE

The UAE automotive market is flooded with premium electric SUVs. The EL8 will have to take on the likes of the Tesla Model Y, BMW iX, Mercedes-Benz EQB, Audi e-tron, Ford Mustang Mach-E, Hyundai Ioniq 5 and the Kia EV9; among others. The NIO EL8’s feature-loaded and spacious cabin will stand out among its rivals. 

NIO is showcasing these models at the Mall of the Emirates (from October 17 to November 6) and Yas Mall (from October 17 to November 12), where users can experience and test drive the vehicles.
